Dr. Lawrence Cavaiola

Chairman of the Board

Dr. Cavaiola is President of Cavaiola & Associates, LLC, a consulting and advisory services company focusing on the defense and security sectors, as well as corporate leadership and management. He serves on a number of company boards of directors, including board and committee leadership positions.

Dr. Cavaiola has more than 20 years of senior executive level experience in the defense and security industry, and served as Deputy Undersecretary of Defense and Special Assistant to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense after distinguished careers in both the Navy and as Deputy Staff Director of the House Armed Services Committee. He served for more than 20 years as a member of the Chief of Naval Operations Executive Panel and is a recipient of the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service and the Department of the Navy Superior Public Service medal.

Dr. Cavaiola graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy, and earned a Ph.D. in Operations Research from The Johns Hopkins University.

Stéphan Crétier

Founding President and Chief Executive Officer, GardaWorld

Named “Entrepreneur of the Decade” by Profit Magazine in 2011 as one of eleven remarkable Canadian CEOs, Stephan Crétier is the Founder, Chairman, President and CEO of Garda World Security Corporation, one of the world’s largest privately owned business solutions and security services company. GardaWorld generates revenues of $3 billion and employs over 62,000 highly trained security professionals.

Mr. Crétier founded GardaWorld in 1995 with an investment of C$25,000 from a second mortgage on his home and grew it to become one of the ten largest security providers globally. Today, as a result of his leadership and direction, the company is Canada’s premier protective services and security screening provider, the largest cash services provider in North America, and one of the leading providers of international risk mitigation services in the emerging markets.

Mr. Crétier is an engaged entrepreneur, business person and philanthropist. He plays an active role as a board member of several organizations, including the Montreal Economic Institute, a leading free market think-tank, and the Ligue Internationale des Sociétés de Surveillance.

Active in the community, he has presided over several successful charity events in recent years, including the Daffodil Ball, Canada’s largest charity event for the Canadian Cancer Society. In 2007, he was honoured by the Canadian Cancer Society for his exceptional contribution to its mission. He has been a long-time supporter of Famijeunes, a front-line humanitarian organization that supports women and children in need in St-Henri, Montreal’s poorest neighborhood. In December of 2012, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Pete Dordal, Jr.


Pete Dordal, Jr, is the President of GardaWorld Federal Services. He is an accomplished security management professional and business leader with over 35 years of experience gained in the U.S. military, private and public security, the intelligence community and entrepreneurial commercial endeavors. He’s been a senior executive at GardaWorld since 2008, having served in a number of progressive operational and leadership roles.

Pete joined GardaWorld from service with a select US government agency, where he provided highly specialized risk management services supporting the Global War on Terror. Earlier, Pete was the Director of Corporate Security at SPX Corporation, a multi-industrial Fortune 500 company, where he oversaw the security and risk management of 24,000 employees operating in 23 countries. In a dual-role he was also the President of SPX Security & Investigations, a commercial business unit that provided a range of security and investigative services to global corporate customers, the US government and other friendly foreign nations. In 1995, Pete founded The Potomac Group & Associates (PG&A), a boutique international security firm he grew to a multi-million dollar business and sold five years later to SPX Corporation.

He entered the private security industry in 1989 with Vance International, the premier executive protection and high-end security consultancy of its time. His professional career began in 1981 with his enlistment in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving eight years in special operations and training.

Pete has a Master’s Degree in Business from the McColl Graduate School of Business, and a degree in Security Administration. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government International Security Program. Pete sits on the boards of the US Libya Business Association (USLBA), Executive Security International (ESI), the Investigative Management Group and the US-Kurdistan Business Council (USKBC). He is also a member of the International Stability Operations Association (ISOA) Advisory Council.

Doug Allison

Board Member

Doug Allison is the President of Summit Point Raceway Associates Inc., supporting the U.S. Government, law enforcement community and private sector with specialized security and driver training. Doug is responsible for leading the Summit Point team, managing the company’s operations, and developing strategies to expand the business.

Prior to this role, Doug was a Senior Special Agent with the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) for the U.S. Department of State. He has over twenty-eight years of service in both overseas and domestic assignments. In his most recent position, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for the High Threat Programs (HTP) Directorate where he was responsible for the oversight and management of security programs at 30 high threat, high risk posts.

Before this assignment, Doug served as the Director of Diplomatic Security’s Office of Anti-Terrorism Assistance (ATA), which is responsible for training the security services of foreign partner nations in counter-terrorism skills and techniques. Doug has previously served domestically as the Director for the Office of Overseas Protective Operations, the Office of Protection, the Diplomatic Security Training Center and the Executive Director of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC).

Doug graduated from Bridgewater College with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration. He received a Master’s Degree in International Commerce and Public Policy from George Mason University, and a Master’s Degree from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University in Strategic Resource Allocation. Doug is the recipient of several State Department awards to include Meritorious, Superior, and Special Agent of the Year awards. He was named Bridgewater College’s Distinguished Alumnus of the Year in 2014.

Jean-Michel Filiatrault

Vice-President, Corporate Development, GardaWorld

Jean-Michel Filiatrault is Vice-President, Corporate Development, supporting GardaWorld’s mergers & acquisitions and corporate financings projects, as well as other strategic initiatives since 2013. In his role, Jean-Michel is responsible for leading project execution across our different segments and geographies, and coordinating any related work streams, including market assessment, opportunity sourcing, comprehensive due diligence and contract negotiation.

Before joining GardaWorld, Jean-Michel was Associate Director at UBS Securities Canada, advising on and executing a wide range of financing and merger transactions for clients such as Bombardier, la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Alimentation Couche-Tard, BRP and GardaWorld.

Jean-Michel is a member of the Board of Directors of Aegis Defense Services, LLC, one of the largest security services provider servicing the U.S. government overseas. He is also member of the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation’s Young Leaders Circle since 2010. More recently Jean-Michel joined the Board of Directors of the Foundation of Stars, an organization founded over 40 years ago with the mission to support research into children’s diseases.

Jean-Michel holds an undergraduate degree in Finance from McGill University.

John Hassoun

Board Member

John Hassoun is founder and CEO of Hassoun Management Solutions, LLC, a management consulting firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, executive and management development and integration.

Hassoun was the president of ASRC Federal's Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) operating group. He led all planning, operational and technology development activities for multiple IS&T operating companies. IS&T delivers mission-enabling cyber, analytics signal processing, cloud computing big data management, and enterprise IT solutions to federal agencies in the defense, intelligence and civilian agency markets.

As president and CEO of Vistronix Intelligence and Technology Solutions, Hassoun was responsible for the explosive growth of the company in the mission assurance and national security markets, leading to its acquisition by ASRC Federal in 2016.

Hassoun has over 25 years’ experience in executive leadership, corporate strategy and business development, business operations and program management. After a successful career as a program manager for the U.S. Air Force, Hassoun served in executive leadership roles at publicly-held General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and Veridian (NYSE: VNX), and served as co-CEO of ATS Corporation until its acquisition by Salient Federal Solutions. Hassoun’s extensive executive leadership experience also includes chief executive positions that he held with Global Integrated Security and Olive Group.

Hassoun currently serves as a board director of GardaWorld Federal Services and GardaWorld Government Services. Both companies are leading providers of worldwide comprehensive security and risk management services.

Hassoun is a member of the board of Inspired Practices in Early Education, a nonprofit organization that promotes the exchange of ideas and points of view regarding education for young children, envisioning a state, a region, and a world where all children experience exceptional childhoods. He is also a member of the College of Sciences and Mathematics advisory board of Wright State University.

Hassoun received his Master of Arts degree in human factors and Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Wright State University.

Michael P. Jackson

Board Member

Mr. Jackson is President of Firebreak Partners, LLC, an advisory Services firm focused on cyber and physical security, critical infrastructure and technology innovation. His career includes executive positions in both the public and private sectors.

Mr. Jackson was Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (2005-2007), the COO responsible for managing day-to-day operations of a $48 billion organization with 210,000 employees. He was Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (2001-2003), where his tenure focused largely on the Department’s response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In the Administration of President George H. W. Bush, Mr. Jackson served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Cabinet Liaison, and later as Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Transportation. He also held several positions in the Administration of President Ronald Reagan.

In the private sector, Mr. Jackson was Chairman and CEO of VidSys (2012-2014), a firm that provides software used globally to run operations centers for public sector agencies and large corporations. He earlier served as Senior Vice President at AECOM – a global family of design and engineering firms – and COO of AECOM’s government services group. At Lockheed Martin IMS’ Transportation group, he managed market-changing services such as large-scale electronic toll collection.

He is a Houston native, with a Ph.D. in Government from Georgetown University.

Patrick Prince

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, GardaWorld

With over 25 years of experience in management, operations and finance, Patrick Prince is GardaWorld’s Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer since 2009.

Patrick was CFO at Air Liquide Canada, the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of industrial gases, for ten years. During his tenure, he helped double sales and quadruple profits. He also directly negotiated 20 business acquisitions and served on the company’s board of directors.

Most recently, Patrick was an Executive Vice-President at Groupe Induspac, a manufacturer and provider of packaging products and services, where he was head of the company’s packaging solutions division. Earlier in his career, he worked at Ernst & Young and KPMG in audit management positions.

Patrick holds a Bachelor in finance and accounting from HEC Montréal as well as the title of Certified Public Accountant.

John Sano

Board Member

John Sano is the former Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency’s National Clandestine Service (NCS), having served in the CIA for 28 years. After retiring from the CIA, Mr. Sano spent 6 years as a Senior Director with Cisco Systems and is currently a professor of intelligence at both The Institute of World Politics and The Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Mr. Sano is also Vice-President of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers as well as a Senior Advisor with The Chertoff Group in Washington, D.C.

Prior to his government service, Mr. Sano earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Asian Studies from St. John’s University in New York, as well as a Master’s of International Affairs from Columbia University.

Oliver Westmacott

President and Chief Operating Officer, GardaWorld International Protective Services

As President and Chief Operating Officer, Oliver Westmacott manages the strategy and direction of GardaWorld International Protective Services. Under his direction, the international business has grown tremendously and expanded services throughout the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and Latin America. Oliver pioneered a global risk model and service platform that combines global expertise with local knowledge and cultural awareness. As a result of strong growth and market leadership and expansion, GardaWorld relocated its headquarters from London and Washington, D.C. to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in 2010.

Oliver joined GardaWorld International Protective Services as Managing Director of the company’s operations in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq, which he established in 2003 as GardaWorld’s first emerging markets business unit. Forging strong and durable relationships with the Kurdish government and the international oil and gas industry, he quickly grew the operations to become the largest private security provider in the region.

Before joining GardaWorld, Oliver spent several years working in venture capital in London, focused on early stage UK investments in a variety of sectors. In 1999, he co-founded an equities trading software company based in Austin, Texas, and served as Chief Operating Officer, helping to develop a market-leading quote server and web-based trading platform that was later acquired by a leading investment house.

The son of a British diplomat, Oliver was born in Iran, and has lived in East Africa, Europe, the US and Turkey, as well as, over the past 10 years, Iraq and most recently Dubai. He is a graduate of Warwick University with a degree in Politics and French, and is the Founder of Emerging Collection, an investment fund building a collection of works by emerging British artists.
